Frank, 8/10/00
I just want to thank you on behalf of myself,
and the other 11 anglers in my group for the most incredible two day
Sturgeon fishing trip we could have imagined. The information, boat, fishing
gear, bait, attitude, and expertise you provided was absolutely world class!
However the scenery and especially the fishing was out of this world!
Everyone in our group had caught many
Sturgeon over the years as well as thousands of other fish. We have fished
Alaska, Mexico, Australia, Florida, Baja, the Caribbean, British Columbia
and every other world class fishery on the planet. But it was you who turned
us on to the Columbia River.
Each of the 12 fisherman in our crew caught
their biggest Sturgeon of their lives. Ten of us caught the biggest fish of
our lives. The non-stop action that let us catch and release 56 over-sized
Sturgeon in two days was no fluke, and we appreciate the effort you put out
to make it happen.
There is no doubt that all of us will be
back, along with our families, friends, fishing buddies, and co-workers that
had to endure our videos, pictures, and endless stories of what a
spectacular trip we had.
I can't thank you enough for all the
hook-ups,
Micheal J. McNair

Accomplishments

Frank on the cover of
Hunting & Fishing News.
Sturgeon Frank is known world
wide as one of the most successful sturgeon fishing guides in the Northwest.
He has customers from around the world who join him each year to fish the
mighty Columbia River for one of the toughest freshwater fish around - the
Great White Sturgeon.
Frank is also one of the top
salmon fishermen in Oregon. Something you will notice when fishing with
Sturgeon Frank is that he avoids fishing in the crowds whenever possible.
Using his many years of experience he can find clients the best action and
plenty of elbow room to play them out.
Frank was rated one of the
top 25 guides on the west coast by Salmon & Steelhead Journal fall 2006
volume 3 issue 4. He lead a team of anglers to win second place in the GI
Joe's 2004 Sturgeon Derby. More recently, in 2006, he guided a team of
anglers who took first place in the Sturgeon Derby.

A Big Plus
Sturgeon Frank is US Coast Guard
licensed to fish in the Pacific ocean, most guides are not. This is a big
plus when fishing areas like the famous Tillamook Bay or Buoy 10 because at times the bite will be just outside the of bay in
ocean waters.
"I will always do my best to
provide honest fishing reports and if I believe the fishing is not worth
your time and money I will tell you so, fishing is not always red hot. If
you are still interested in trying you luck I will do my best to get you
into the fish."
"I have fished in many areas of
the northwest during prime and not so prime conditions. Some of these times,
when I anticipated the fishing to be slow, the not so hot bite turned into
one of our best days on the water. This just goes to show that some of the
best fishing can happen when your least expecting it."

White Sturgeon
The northwest is home to the
largest population of great white sturgeon in the world. The Columbia River
offers top quality sturgeon angling opportunity throughout the year.
Sturgeon average from 7 - 14 feet in length and can weigh up to 400 pounds.
It's hard to imagine just how
big and strong these fish are until you've experienced the fight for
yourself first-hand. You'll want to bring along your camera to capture this
incredible fish on film along with the vast scenery of the Columbia River
Gorge, some of the most spectacular in North America.
This trip provides plenty of
action and fun for veteran as well as beginner anglers. Keeper Sturgeon
range from 42" to 60" though many are hooked under and over that size.
These fish are known to
provide some of the best eating meat of any freshwater species. Sturgeon is
great smoked deep fried, baked or smoked and canned.

I didn't get a chance to fish
with you on this trip to the Gorge, but my buddies who did say your trip was
top notch. I was on the Bay area fish show after the trip, which is a Radio
show done live by cell phones as we head out to fish on Sunday mornings.
It is on KNBR 68 which
broadcasts over half of California. The interview was on our trip to
Portland and I put in plugs for you and Dan with your phone numbers.
I have included a letter you
might be able to use as referral material and another article in which I got
you guys plugged in the local paper. [
